So, what do you do?
I’m a big fan of systems, processes and templates.
Anything to avoid reinventing the wheel so I can save my precious time and energy in the long run. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s something I’ll need more than a few times, it’s worth having a process in place to make everything more efficient and easeful.
So in that vein, how many times have you been asked, “What do you do?”
Ugh, right? That question again. Cue the elevator pitch groan.
➡️ Side note: I actually have a go-to answer for anytime someone asks me that question and I’m feeling either sassy or bored with the formal script:
Q: “What do you do?” A: “Anything I can get away with.”
It usually elicits either laughter or a raised eyebrow. Either way, it has opened some fun doors.
Anyway, back to templates. This week’s Action Memo is my fill-in-the-blank, no-fuss template to the ubiquitous “What do you do?” question.
Here you go… a one-step Action Memo! 🎬 Take five minutes and fill in the blanks to create your own go-to script:
A pro-tip here… get out of the canned mission statement with this one and fill it in with your own words. That’ll keep your script a little more real, relatable and authentic.
